Prison visit request via smart phone

New service enables inmates’ families to obtain service quickly and easily

The Ministry of Interior has added a new mobile service allowing people to submit a request to visit inmates of Punitive and Correctional Establishments across the country via the Ministry’s smartphones application, UAE MoI.

The new service enables inmates’ families to obtain the service quickly and easily in accordance with the smart government’s vision. The application enables customers to access the service by following a set of steps.

Brigadier Hamad Adeel Al Shamesi, Director-General of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, noted the service aimed to facilitate organised visits for inmates, and is one of the most important services provided by the Ministry to both citizens and residents.

He pointed out that the Ministry has endeavoured to transform this service into a smart service as part of the federal government’s vision to save time and effort for members of the public and enable them to avail these services smoothly and easily without the inconvenience of visiting the Punitive and Correctional Establishments to submit a request for a visit.
