RAK Police air-lifts 8 Europeans to safety

They were administered first-aid and air-lifted to hospital

Ras Al Khaimah Police rescued eight Europeans from atop a mountain in the emirate on Friday.

Saeed Rashid Yamahi, Chairman, Air Wing Department, Ras Al Khaimah Police, said the operations room received information at 2pm on Friday about a group of Europeans stranded on the mountain.

Immediately, crew led by Major Pilot Saeed Saif Al Shahyari headed to the site and found eight people at a height of 3,000 feet.

They were administered first-aid and air-lifted to hospital for necessary treatment.

Those rescued were stressed out after being out in the heat, Shahyari said.

He thanked the crew of the Air Wing Department for their support and prompt action. He confirmed that the department is ready at all times to meet any emergency.
