RCA launches Dh28 million charity campaign

The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has launched its seasonal Ramadan campaign with an initial budget of Dh28 million to implement Ramadan projects, notably breakfast, Al Fitr Zakat and Eid clothing projects.
About 75, 000 people in the UAE and abroad are set to benefit daily from the programme.
Mohammed Khalifa Ahmed Al Qamzi, secretary-general of the RCA, said at a press conference held in Abu Dhabi that the RCA was keen to implement its seasonal projects to ease burden on the needy amid response from philanthropists.
Themed 'Breeze of Charity Surrounds them', he said, the campaign depicts the course and directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Al Qamzi also referred to the important support from General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and follow up from Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Western Region and Chairman of the RCA.
He noted that the programme will serve 50, 000 people in the UAE and over 25, 000 beneficiaries abroad daily.
