Reduction in work hours for private sector during Ramadan

Labour Minister Saqr Ghobash has issued a ministerial circular on the reduction of work hours in implementation of the article 65 of the federal law number 8 of year 1980, on regulation of work relations and its amendments.

In accordance with the resolution, the work hours of private sector firms will be reduced from eight to six, without affecting the salaries of employees.
 
 
RESIDENCY DEPARTMENTS’ TIMINGS
 
The Ministry of Interior has set the work hours at the Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs and the Departments of Naturalisation nationwide from 9am to 6pm at all service sections to speed up transactions of clients during Ramadan.
 
Major-General Nasser Al Awadhi Al Menhali, assistant undersecretary of the ministry for naturalisation, residency and ports affairs, announced that work teams have been set up to process transactions of public and upgrade services to clients in line with total quality concepts.
 
Al Menhali congratulated the higher leadership on the advent of Ramadan, stressing that the residency departments across the UAE will continue rendering services to ease procedures for public.
 
Meanwhile, the directorate of residency and foreigners affairs in Abu Dhabi has announced its preparedness for Ramadan.
 
Col. Ibrahim Al Sarkal, deputy director-general of the directorate, said the department is ready to implement the instructions of police command on the need to render best services at all departments in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Western Region.
 
Col. Mohammed Saeed Mohammed bin Khatim, acting deputy director-general of the directorate of residency and foreigners affairs in Fujairah, said the department is seeking to employ all efforts to provide distinguished services to public during Ramadan.
 
MINISTRY OF HEALTH TIMINGS 
 
The Health Ministry has approved the official working hours of all health centres at medical districts in the Northern Emirates taking into consideration they have been set to meet the general interests of the society and religious rituals and traditions during the holy month, said Dr Mahmood Fikri, Executive Director for Health Policies at the Ministry of Health.
 
The official timings of the health centers are as follows: In Dubai, Hor Al Anz, Al Rashidyia, Al Ittihad, Al Aweer, work will start from 9am till 2pm and from 8.30pm to 12 midnight.
 
In Sharjah, work will start in Sharjah city, Al Riqqa, Al Sabka, Wasit, Al Rafea, Al Khalidyia from Sunday to Thursday from 9am to 2pm and from 8.30pm to 12 midnight.
 
Meanwhile, in Alhamryia, the timing will start from 9am to 12 noon and from 8.30pm to 12 midnight.
 
In Ajman, Al Madina will open from 9am to 2pm and from 8.30pm to 12 midnight.
 
Mushairaif, Al Hamidyia, Al Manama and Al Muzairae will be open from 9am to 1pm, while in Umm Al Quwain, Al Khazaan and Salma will start from 9am to 2pm.
 
Meanwhile, Falaj Al Mualla will start from 9am to 12 noon and Al Rafaa from 9am to 1pm and from 8.30pm to 12 midnight.
 
In Ras Al Khaimah, Ras Al Khaimah and Jazeera, timings from Sundays to Saturdays are from 9am to 2pm and from 8.30 pm to 12 midnight.
 
Al Maamoora, Al Munaei, Kidra, Al Humranyia, Al Jeer, Masafi, Julfaar, Khat and Al Rams will open from Sunday to Thursday from 9am to 2pm and from 8.30pm to 12 midnight.
 
Saif Bin Ali will open from Sunday to Thursday from 9am to 1pm and from 8.30pm to 12 midnight.
 
Shoaka will open from Monday and Wednesday from 10am to 1pm, Digdaga on Saturdays, from 8.30pm to 12 midnight.
 
In Fujairah, Muraishad, Qadfaa and Masafi will open from Sunday to Thursday from 9 am to 2pm and from 8.30pm to 12 midnight.
 
All other centres receive outpatients from 9am to 1pm and from 8.30pm to 12 midnight and Masafi will be open from 9am to 1pm on Fridays and Saturdays from 8.30pm to 12 midnight.
 
EIDA
 
Emirates Identity Authority has announced that working hours during Ramadan will be from 9am to 5pm, from Sunday to Thursday.
 
Service points that will work on that basis include Al Mushref, Musaffah, Al Ain, Al Barshaa, Al Karama, Al Rashidiya, Ajman, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Al Rams and Al Fujairah.
 
The authority also announced that working hours of other service points in Ramadan will be from 9am to 2pm.
 
Service points that will work on that basis include Exhibitions Centre, Zayed City, El Sila, Ghayathi, Delma, Alathid and Umm Al Quwain.

LABOUR MINISTRY

Labour Minister Saqr Ghobash has issued a circular on official workings hours at service halls during Ramadan.
 
According to the circular, the shift will be from 9am to 12 noon and from 12.30pm to 5.30pm.
 
The two shifts are applicable to all customer service employees, while the employees of the ministry at departments and other offices are obliged with the mandatory working hours for public sector from 9am to 2pm.
