Return fares to 37 places from Dh599 all-inclusive

This month is relatively low season for travel as UAE schools are in full swing; yet, many families, especially expat Indians, travel outbound due to the festive season, which marks Diwali.

Sale time in the world of aviation is becoming more or less what we are used to seeing in the world of retail on ground.

The latest offer in the skies is from budget carrier Air Arabia, with the airline offering return fares to 37 destinations starting from Dh599 and this is all-inclusive so there are no last minutes add-ons as you finalise the booking.

You can take advantage of this offer if you book from Sunday, October 12, to Wednesday, October 22, 2014, and the travel period is until December 10 of 2014.

The offer is well in time for the Indian festival of Diwali but skips out the school winter break, which normally starts after December 15 for most schools in the country.

To Indian destinations like Mumbai, however, you will have to spend Dh849; and it still dearer for a ticket to Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi, at Dh899.

The cheapest tickets are to destinations like Abadan, Bahrain, Dammam, Doha, Hofuf, Kuwait , Lar and Shiraz.

Last month, the Sharjah-based carrier offered tickets priced Dh149 for one-way to Mumbai and Dh249 to Delhi. These were one-way all inclusive fares that the company was offering then.

But if you are looking for a full-serviced airline, there are indeed options to choose from.

Emirates airline is offering a 15 per cent discount in business and economy class to selected worldwide destinations.

You’ll need to book by October 21, 2014, for outbound travel between October 22 and December 14, 2014, again ending just before the school break and the Christmas season when ticket prices traditionally surge.

Under the offer, the tickets are priced at Dh1,015 to destinations in the Middle East and Asia & the Pacific; Dh1,815 to Europe and Africa and Dh4,395 to North & South America.

October, too, seems to be a month of sale when it comes to ticket prices. Air Arabia and Emirates have already taken off and we could perhaps see other offers rolling too.
