Dubai Court of First Instance sentenced two Emiratis, who attempted to kill a Chinese in revenge for resisting them when they had tried to rob him, to one year and two months in jail.

The court also fined 21-year-old HA, a student, and AA, whose age is not mentioned, to pay Dh2,000 fine each.

According to the records, on August 16, 2015 the duo visited YZ in his flat where he offers massage services.

YZ testified: “After they entered the flat, one of them pulled out a sword and asked me to give them money. I surprised him by snatching the sword from his hand, and pointed it at his neck. Meanwhile, the other person pulled a knife and ordered me to release his friend. I threatened to kill his friend and asked him to drop the knife down. Then I pushed them out of my flat.”

“Three days later, the two returned with swords again to seek revenge,” he added.

YZ ran out of the flat, and asked one of his friends to call the cops. Meanwhile, the duo caught up with him and stabbed him several times.

Police arrived and rushed YZ to hospital.

The building’s watchman, a Filipina neighbour, two staff of the massage parlour testified in court.
