The Franchise and Monitoring Department at Public Transport Agency, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and the Department of Operations at the General HQ of the Dubai Police, stressed the importance of coordinating their efforts towards taking effective measures to curb traffic disruption ensuing from road accidents in Dubai involving any taxicab from a franchise company.

In this regard the two departments held a meeting at the premises of RTA’s Public Transport Agency attended by Abdullah Al Mahri, Director of Franchise and Monitoring at the Public Transport Agency; and Brigadier Omar Abdullah Al Shamsi, Deputy Director of Operations; Lt. Colonel Arif Murshid from the General HQ of the Dubai Police, and a host of officials from RTA’s Franchise and Monitoring Department.

“The Department of Operations of the Dubai Police expressed readiness to tow or remove vehicles from the crash spot to avoid potential resultant disruption, traffic congestion, or delay in vehicular movement. This step stems from the keenness to enhance road safety & security with reference to the business of taxicabs operating under the tutelage of the RTA, maximize the safety of road users, and protect public properties,” said Al Mahri.

“The RTA and the Dubai Police always act in the spirit of strategic partners in tackling all cases & traffic accidents in a highly professional & efficient manner by quickly responding to emergency situations that warrant immediate intervention.

Such concerted efforts will fend off any potential traffic disruption or bottlenecks that might have negative impacts on the flow of business or the public interest of the Emirate,” he added.

The gathering was also attended by representatives of franchise companies operating in Dubai, who praised this cooperation & support accorded by the Dubai Police. They also paid tribute to RTA’s commitment to bring these initiatives forward for reviewing with strategic partners in various fields; which will bolster the standing of the UAE in general and Dubai in particular; which will ultimately translate into added happiness to residents, tourists and visitors hailing from all corners of the globe.
