The Roads and Transport Authority will be diverting many of its services currently provided by its customer service centres into self-service channels including its website (www.rta.ae), toll free phone number (800 90 90) and its branches through appointed agents by June.

According to Ahmed Mahboob,  RTA’s director of customer service, the service providers will include  Shamel, Wasel, Tasjeel, Tamam, Al Mumayyaz besides websites of banks and affiliated ATM machines, bank customer care centers and Salik recharge machines.

E-services will include renewal of vehicles less than three years old which are exempted from technical inspection, renewal of licences of drivers younger than 21, application for driver/vehicle licensing certificate, request for seasonal parking cards (only for companies) and requests for recharging Salik account.

Other services currently provided by RTA’s customer care centres will temporarily be  restricted to Al Manara and Al Tawar centers until  electronic transformation of the remaining centers is completed.
