RTA to auction 3-, 4-, 5-digit plates

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai is offering 150 vehicle licensing plates comprising 3, 4 and 5 digits of different codes namely: G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R & S.

Registration for bidding continues for a week starting from Sunday, August 7, through its forthcoming 42nd online auction. Bidding will begin on Sunday August 14, starting at 8am, and continue for six days.

Sultan Al Marzooki, Director of Vehicles Licensing, RTA’s Licensing Agency, anticipated an intense participation in the 42nd online auction as it offers a galaxy of distinctive plates, always sought-after by RTA clients. The auction responds to the wishes of number plate enthusiasts as it offers them the liberty of selecting their fancied numbers in a hassle-free environment.

“Successes of this sort of auctions in the past contributed to boosting the e-services encompassed in the annual plan of the Vehicles Licensing Department aimed at improving the quality of public transactions in a way that brings added happiness and satisfies different tastes of peoples,” noted Al Marzooki.

“The participation in the Auction requires registration via a number of communication channels such as visiting RTA website (www.rta.ae), or any RTA Customer Service Center in Dubai to seek assistance in completing the registration process. The potential bidder is required to pay Dh5,000 as a security deposit before the start of bidding through a credit card, a cheque addressed to the RTA, or in cash. The Dep't undertakes to refund the deposited security amounts to bidders after the end of the Auction, according to the way in which each deposit is made.

“A team from RTA’s Call Center has been furnished with all information related to the auction, and stands ready to respond to any public inquiries made through the toll-free number 8009090 about procedures of participation or payment,” concluded Al Marzooki.
