Sacked 'rude' employee loses case to regain job
An employee who was sacked by his company for treating his juniors rudely lost a court case to regain his job and make his employers pay him Dhone million in damages, press reports said on Thursday.
Both the employee and the company had appealed various court sentences until a final verdict was issued by the Supreme Federal Court (SFC), which established that the firm abided by the law when it sacked that employee.
The unnamed man had told court his firm made an arbitrary decision when it ended his services but evidence submitted to SFC showed the company had warned him many times before the sacking decision.
Company officials argued that they fired the employee because of his persistent rude treatment of his juniors and his absence from work for many hours.
“The SFC found that the company complied with all laws and regulations enforced in the UAE and the firm’s statute towards that employee,” the Dubai-based Arabic language daily Emarat Alyoum said.
