Safety engineer falls to death from newly tower

A safety engineer of a leading  architecture and consultancy company in Dubai, fell to his death from a newly completed high rise building in Dubai Investment Park, Jebel Ali.

The engineer was inspecting the safety features of the new building with with two other engineers when he fell from the sixth floor of the building on Tuesday afternoon.

Mohammed Shaheen, 32, safety engineer worked with Arenco Architecture and Consutlancy. The deceased engineer hails from Chavakkadu, Kerala.

“An investigation is going on about the accident and we are not in a position to make a comment about the accident. Dubai Police is investigating the case and once all the documentation is completed, we will be able to talk about it. He has been working with us for about seven months and we are all sad about his death,” said an Arenco official from the Human Resources Department.

“The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon when he was inspecting the building with two other colleagues. He fell from the sixth floor of the building when his colleagues were inspecting the lower floors of the building in Dubai Investment Park,” said a source who handled the death case.

“He was rushed to the hospital but the engineer died before reaching hospital,” added family sources. The father of a 44-day-old baby, Shameem, earlier used to work in Qatar.

His friends and colleagues are saddened by the accidental death. “It is a very sad case because he has just got a new baby only 44 days ago. The family is devastated by the death,” added family sources. Relatives said the dead body will be repatriated to Chavakkadu, Kerala.
