Salesman accused of molesting 6-year-old

An Indian salesman allegedly kissed a six-year old girl in her neck, groin and cheek in a corridor of a building at Al Nahda area.

FM, 26, is accused of molesting the girl in last March by holding her firmly and kissing her cheek, neck and groin.

PR, 37, the victim's mother testified that on the day of the incident her daughter was playing in the corridor of her building at about 6.30pm.

“I left the door open so that my daughter could return when she finished playing,” she testified.

PR said FM rang her doorbell and told her he was an etisalat employee, then started asking her about her subscription with etisalat.

Five minutes after he left, she said her daughter came back to the apartment extremely upset saying that she will never play in the corridor again.

“When I asked why, she told me that FM met her next to the stairway and started asking her about her father. When she moved closer, he blocked her way… pulled down her shorts and molested her,” the mother told prosecutors.

The mother called her husband, who came to the building and searched for FM and called the police.

FM confessed to grabbing the child by her shoulders and kissing her against her will three times on the cheek and once on the neck, according to the records.

However, FM denied the accusation before the court and said that he only touched her cheek in a fatherly manner and claimed that the mother sued him vindictively following a dispute he had with her.

The court adjourned the case for verdict until June 13.
