An Indian salesman allegedly stole electronic goods worth more than Dh700,000 from the store of his employer. SAA, 43, salesman, is accused of theft with the help of MBB, 32, driver, and SB, 21, mechanic, who are accused of criminal complicity. Two other salesmen, FIH, 33, and JTQ, 32, are accused of knowingly possessing stolen electronic products.

Mitish Bharat Kumar, 28, partner, testified that on July 30, he received a phone call from the store keeper asking him to come to the store at Ras Al Khor area where he found that it had been burgled, so he called the police.

“As police arrived, we called SAA to come to come to Al Rashidiya police station. He promised to come but later he switched off his mobile and disappeared,” he testified.

Corporal Majed Saeed testified that a squad was formed to investigate the case and arrest the accused. “Police arrested MBB on August 3 at Sharjah International Free Zone. He confessed to assisting SAA to burgle the store with SB. He also agreed with FIH and JTQ to sell them the products for Dh700,000 after telling them they belonged to him. He handed over the amount to SAA after deducting Dh15,000, his share of the theft. Later in the day, police arrested FIH and JTQ who admitted to buying the electronic goods from MBB who claimed that he owned the items and that he will show them the bill that proved his claim but he failed to do so.”

The police confiscated some of the electronic products that were in the possession of FIH and JTQ but could not retrieve all because they had already sold some of them to an Iranian, testified the policeman. His colleague Mohammed Hassan repeated the same testimony.

The court adjourned the case to December 18.
