Samsung lures UAE students with discounts, raffles

South Korean technology firm Samsung Electronics Co is offering students across the UAE a chance to win up to $10,000 (Dh36,700) in tuition fees, as well as a 10 per cent discount on its tablets.

In a media statement, the firm said, from August 14 until September 13, 2014, UAE students with a school ID can receive the discount and a place in raffle draws upon the purchase of a 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab 4 or 10.5-inch Galaxy Tab S.

Over the course of a month, the campaign will feature three draws, giving contest hopefuls three chances to win on August 24, September 3 and September 15.

To qualify for the raffle draw, students will need to register their purchase codes at www.samsung.com/ae/back2school or SMS the code to 6059.

“The value of education is indisputable, and it is our hope that this promotion will give a big boost to students this year,” said Denzil D’Souza, Business Head, Mobility Sales Group, Samsung Gulf Electronics said.

“Not only will Samsung cover the cost of education for three students, but by making our most advanced tablets more affordable, we also aim to keep young people engaged and connected in the classroom for a long time to come,” he added.
