Saudi fountain in Guinness Book of World Records

Hallmark of new park built for eastern town of Hufouf

A massive man-made fountain in Saudi Arabia has gone into the Guinness Book of World Records as one of the largest and most attractive fountains in the world.

Guinness representatives will be among thousands of officials and citizens to mark the registration of the King Abdullah Fountain in the eastern region on Sunday night, the Arabic language daily Al Riyadh said.

The fountain is the hallmark of a new park constructed on a 500,000-metre land strip in the eastern town of Hufouf. The park has a man-made lake stretching nearly 700 metres, bridges for visitors, smaller fountains and other facilities.
