Several parts of Dubai and Sharjah flooded after heavy rains

Several parts of Dubai and Sharjah were flooded following overnight rains, residents said.

Families were seen cautiously crossing over, while vehicles were moving slowly with hazards on.

Residents in Bur Dubai told Emirates 24l7 that the area has been flooded and people are struggling through the water pounds and flooded streets.

The rain started on Thursday evening and still continues in most parts of the country.  The National Center of Meteorology and Seismology office has also forecast rain for tomorrow (Saturday) in different parts of the UAE.

Motorists have been advised to drive slow and cautiously during the rainy days.

Temperature has also dropped sharply, particularly in the mountainous areas of Northern Emirates. The temperature is expected to drop to 10 Celsius at night at the Northern Emirates.

Abu Dhabi also continued to receive rains Friday morning that started late last night. The temperature dipped into the lover twenties overnight. The sky remains cloudy promising more showers later in the day.
