The Legal Affairs Department at the Strategic and Corporate Governance Sector at Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in cooperation with the Islamic Affairs Department and Charity Work in Dubai recently organised an exceptional lecture entitled ‘Sharia Prohibitions in Relation to Work.’

The lecture, delivered by Sheikh Abdullah Al Kamali, aimed at spreading awareness and educating employees on the importance of loving, affinity and altruism in the workplace.

In his lecture, Al Kamali tackled several important points linked to values and work ethics that are based on the divine directives instructing human in general and Muslims in particular to be remote from selfishness and approach good deeds and behaviors towards their peers and colleagues in all domains.

He also highlighted the need to keep themselves away from envy, gossiping and rumors, and denunciation as they badly affect the image of the employees and waste their enthusiasm instead of performing the required tasks they are entrusted to perform and this affects the work productivity which controverts the saying that ‘Work is Worship’.

Al Kamali praised the massive attendance from the male and female employees at the Authority which reflects the interest of the youth in the work and job ethics.

Shehab Bu Shehab, Director of Legal Affairs at the RTA, who attended the lecture said: “The RTA does not hesitate in making any effort to educate its employees whatever is best for their personal, public and professional life, and is keen to organise lectures to sharpen their motivational ethics for staff for the good interest of the work by creating an appropriate environment surrounded by love and affinity and good deeds.”

He added: “The RTA is keen to strengthen human relations among employees, recognising that the real wealth is reflected in the presence of human cadres characterized by elements of moral virtues, which make it an attractive work environment and encourage to do more innovative efforts.”
