Sharjah intensifies inspections during Eid

Sharjah Economic Development Department (Sedd) has intensified inspection on the eve of Eid Al Adha as part of awareness campaign among consumers and dealers about their rights and duties.

Bader Al Salman, Acting Deputy Director of Commercial Control and Protection Department in Sedd, said the department organises extensive campaigns throughout the year about markets and shopping malls under the slogan ‘Know Your Right... Protect Yourself’ for consumers.

Salman said Sedd is now organising campaign in collaboration with Sharjah Municipality for Eid sacrificial livestock.

He asked public to call Municipality on 993 in case of violation of the law with regard to sacrificial livestock.

Ali Fadil, Head of Commercial Protection Section at the Department, emphasised that the concerned parties from all the other emirates are working to protect consumers.

He asked residents to contact the Department if they found any violation through Sedd’s multiple channels either by dialing 06-5122247 or by visiting the Department’s website for consumer protection www.shjconsumer.ae.

Sedd, SMC organise training programme

Sedd had also organised a training programme in with conjunction with the Sharjah Media Center (SMC) for the executives to familiarise with the skills on dealing with media.

Held during September 13-15 in Sharjah, around 15 directors of departments and head of sections from Sedd participated in the training programme as part of developing and improving the leadership skills of the participants.

Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sedd, said that the department always gives priority to its cadres by improving their knowledge and skills.

He emphasised that Sedd also pays great attention in organising such training programmes for employees which play a great role in achieving the department’s strategies and plans.
