Sharjah Municipality launches ‘Summer Heat Without Stress’ campaign

The Sharjah Municipality on Monday launched a campaign to prevent heat exhaustion under the theme "Summer Without Heat Stress."

The four-day campaign includes field trips and educational lectures to raise awareness about the dangers of heat exhaustion among all members of the community, especially workers who are exposed to direct sunlight.

Hanan Jaber Jassim, Head of the Events and Exhibitions’ Section at the Sharjah Municipality, said that the campaign is in line with the municipality’s activities for the year. Its health and community initiatives are aimed at enhancing knowledge of various health risks and creating a safe living and work environment in the emirate.

The campaign mainly targets labourers who are exposed to direct sunlight. Hence, the programme was kicked off with visits to construction sites in various parts of Sharjah. The goal was to directly communicate with workers and familiarise them with the dangers of heat exhaustion, its symptoms, preventive procedures, and provisions of emergency first aid, Jassim informed.
