Brig. Saif Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-In-Chief of Sharjah Police, has launched the world's biggest driving licence, earning it an entry to the Guinness World Records.

The ceremony was held at the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department at the General Command of Sharjah Police.

The move comes in support of the UAE's global competitiveness drive, with an emphasis on Emirati innovation and creativity to break Guinness records in all fields. The initiative also aims to highlight the importance of a driving licence.

Brig. Al Shamsi said the proposal came from an individual and was passed to the Sharjah Police. He noted that a team was set up to implement the proposal in a record time.

The Sharjah police chief expressed his pride about this achievement , which placed Sharjah on the world map. "This achievement has been presented to Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, for his efforts to improve the security work," Al Shamsi said.

Huda Khashab, project manager at Guinness World Records, made the announcement and handed the Guinness certificate to Brig. Al Shamsi on Tuesday morning.
