Sharjah Police has managed to settle financial cases involving a total amount of Dh246,732,112 without the need to refer cases to the courts.

This amount is for the first half of 2016.

“It was done through amicable settlements and sensible judgement at the police stations in Sharjah.

“We aim to resolve financial disputes including bad cheque cases. Residents can now directly approach police stations, before going to the public prosecutor.

“This does not include repeat offenders where the judicial process is already in play,” Colonel Dr. Khalifa, Director, Sharjah Police, said.

He pointed out that the initiative achieved many positive results, including social stability for the defendants and their families.
