Sharjah Residency urges violators to rectify their status

The Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Sharjah has once more called on violators of the residency law to take an initiative by correcting their status in accordance with the legal procedures in this respect.

Brig. Dr Abdullah Ali bin Sahoo, Director General of the Residency, said the societal media campaign launched by the Ministry of Interior represented by the Department of Violators and Foreigners Follow Up under the theme "No for Violators", has streamlined cooperation among different sectors of community, be they citizens or residents, to tackle this negative phenomenon that mars the civilised image of the community.

Sahoo reiterated that the Directorate was putting into practice the instructions of the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalisation, Residency and Ports, to be lenient with violators who approach the Directorate to correct their status or leave the country. He added that the Directorate would step up inspection campaign against the violators in cooperation with competent authorities in the Emirate of Sharjah.
