Sheikh Zayed Road vs Emirates Road: Worst for fatal crashes

Overall accident rate drops

Road accidents claimed the lives of 72 people in the first eight months of this year in Dubai, down 11 per cent from 81 deaths during the same period of the previous year.

Four people died in accidents on Sheikh Zayed Road and Emirates Road each during the first eight months of 2012.

Three deaths occurred on Jebel Ali Port Road and Zabeel Road each during this period.

Two lives were lost in accidents on Khawaneej, Garhoud and Dubai-Al Ain roads each.

Roads in Umm Suqieum, Al Quoz, Union, Mankhool and Bani Yas claimed one life each.
