Sheikha Latifa gives Dh5m for humanitarian cases

Sheikha Latifa bin Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum has emerged as one of the pioneers in humanitarian aid, donating nearly Dhfive million for more than 200 cases in just five months, according to the Red Crescent Society.

The aid benefited poor families, indebted prisoners, students seeking to complete high studies, patients and equipment for medical centres and clinics, it said.

“Sheikha Latifa’s gestures covered more than 200 humanitarian cases involving the payment of nearly Dhfive million…they largely supported our efforts and helped play an active role in helping others,” the Society’s director Mohammed Al Zarouni told the Arabic language daily Emarat Alyoum.

“The money was used in helping many families passing through difficult conditions, payment of school and university fees for students, buying medical equipment, supporting handicapped centres, helping widows and divorced women, orphans and old people and paying debt for prisoners.”
