With light rain starting to fall in Dubai and Abu Dhabi on Tuesday evening, the UAE is headed for another spell of unstable weather.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has forecast unstable conditions in the country with chances of rain and hailstorms.

In an early morning tweet, NCMS said: “Light rain in Dubai and Sharjah currently.”

Morning traffic had also affected Dubai's Airport road after Dubai Police reported that debris had fallen on the road.

The tweet read: "There is congestion on the Airport road in front of Building 1 as a result of falling of parts. The street is partially shut down until the removal of the remaining parts."

The road was later cleared for traffic.

Abu Dhabi Police also tweeted just before noon: "Traffic congestion and delays after Al Shahama Bridge towards Dubai."

In fact, for the following three days the NCMS expects showers, lightning and hailstorms across the UAE.

By Wednesday [tomorrow], the unstable weather will intensify over the country resulting in an increasing cloud cover and rainfall with different intensities and thunder storm at times.

The skies will remain cloudy to partly cloudy, with fresh strong winds blowing up sand and reducing visibility.

Temperatures are expected to drop to 10 degree centigrade in mountainous areas and will touch a low of 13 degrees in internal regions of the country.

Sea will be rough to very rough in Arabian Gulf and  Oman Sea especially with clouds activity.

Authorities have warned motorists to exercise caution on roads and abide by traffic rules to avoid any untoward incidents in the coming days.

Residents are also advised to stay clear of water bodies over the weekend.
