You may have your eyes and heart set on your lady love, but is it difficult to pop the question to her?

Many men may be shy and unsure about how to propose marriage, but as with all other things in our life, technology is here to make proposing marriage a lot simpler.

Out here to help such men in distress, a new website, www.proposalboutique.com, says it can help men pop the question in the most romantic and unique way possible all around Dubai and the UAE.

These ‘friends’ come much before you see the wedding planners, fashion stylists, floral designers and other referees.

Some residents claim this is just making money out of the most personal things in life. “Proposing is between two individuals and I wouldn’t have anyone else do it for me,” said British national Ron O’Leary [name changed on request]. He plans to propose soon, but without getting a third party involved in something that be believes is very special and close to his heart.

But for those who don’t mind a bit of external help, this service comes at a price. The cost of this help ranges between Dh980 ($250) and Dh44,000+ ($12,000+), even as the business venture behind the proposal maintains it will do everything from start to finish.

The starting package only gives you two ideas of how to pop the question, period. The more advanced ones offer a personal planner, do the legwork, give you more ideas but all other costs are on you.

Under the offer, you will be interviewed to know your significant other, their likes and dislikes, and based on what the experts at proposal websites find, they create personalised and unique ideas to help you propose. They also negotiate with vendors and scout a good location for you.

The brainchild behind this venture says the idea is to make it happen in the best possible way and maximize your chances of getting a “yes” as the answer.

This idea is new to Dubai but there are several such websites in the West that help in the proposing process - www.theheartbandits.com, www.brillianteventplanning.com, www.theproposers.co.uk - are to name a few popular ones in the US and the UK.

Most proposal planners say they try their best to make it a fairy-tale for your ladylove, but that doesn’t necessarily translate into a ‘yes’. It may increase your chances of getting the acceptance that you are looking for but if it doesn’t, the money for sure is not refundable.
