Split truck tyre crashes into Ajman house

A massive tyre crashed into an Emirati house in Ajman after it came off a truck while moving, causing damage to the wall and threatening the room with collapse.

Saeed Suleiman Al Mazroui said he was at home in the morning on Monday when he heard a loud bang in one room in his house in Manama neighborhood.

He said that he rushed to the room and was shocked to see a big hole in the wall while a large truck tyre settled in the room without causing further damage.

“I went outside and found that the tyre had split off a truck which was parked near my house…what angered me was that the driver was changing his vehicle’s tyre without any consideration to what he had done to my house,” he told Emarat Al Youm daily.

The paper quoted police investigator Salim Al Sahabi that Mazroui had filed a case against the Asian driver accusing him of causing damage to private property and endangering lives. He said that the accident could have been caused by overload.

“The driver seems to have overloaded his vehicle and exceeded the speed limit…this could have caused his vehicle’s tyre to come off,” he said.
