Three Iranian sailors, who are facing drugs charges, have confessed before the Dubai Criminal Court that they possessed hashish and drug pills for personal use.
The three, identified as RAA, 29, JM 31, and QAB, 24, have admitted taking drugs but claimed that this was in their home country.
The three were arrested following a tip-off made to Dubai Police Anti-Drugs Department about RAA possessing and taking drugs on his boat anchored at Dubai Creek.
On February 2, police raided the boat and seized 22 tablets containing different drugs and 2.24 grams of hashish. The three accused, who were in the boat, were arrested.
RAA has submitted a written defence to the court and the three have asked for verdict. The case was adjourned for verdict until September 5.
