Motorists are being warned by Dubai Police of a crash that occurred on Emirates Road (Former Bypass Road) near Al Ruwaya.

Morning commuters are also reporting other crashes on Sheikh Zayed Road, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, while pockets of traffic are being reported across several hotspots in Dubai and Sharjah.

At 7.45am, Dubai Police posted on its official Twitter account of an accident near Dubai Sports Club, saying: “An accident has been reported on Emirates Road after Dubai Sport Club bridge, towards Al Ruwaya. Please be extra cautious.”

The nature of the accident was not clear.

Around 8am, community handle TrafficDXB also reported a ‘major’ accident on Sheikh Zayed Road, adding: “Major accident on SZR just after Hessa Street interchange towards Mall of the Emirates/ Sharjah causing congestion and tailback. Please drive carefully.”

Further down, Hessa Street itself was not faring better, with commuters reporting 20 minutes after the crash that the road was congested towards Jumeirah, with slight delays expected.

Another crash is also being reported further down on E11, heading northbound, near Safa Park Interchange at the same time.

Meanwhile, those avoiding the congestion on E11 to head down Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road instead were facing gridlock at the Dubai Investments Park (DIP) roundabout, starting from Jumierah Village Triangle towards Abu Dhabi.

However, those heading south on Al Wasl Road will find relatively free flowing traffic until the Union Coop junction.

Those across the emirate in Sharjah are facing pockets of traffic near Al Khan and again towards Dubai near the National Paints junction.
