This Wednesday morning drive has turned into a practice in patience for many commuters that are reporting gridlocks from all major Dubai highways this morning, leading to major delays across the city.
Minor accidents across the city has affected Al Khail Road, near the DIFC exit, along with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, near Discovery Gardens, and Sheikh Zayed Road’s Trade Centre underpass.
All these incidents are reported heading into Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi.
Frustrated eyewitnesses took to social media to report on a minor accident that has occurred around 8.30am near the Discovery Gardens exit on the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.
The situation stretches towards the Dubai Investments Park turnoff, bringing that whole area to a standstill, per reports.
Meanwhile, those connecting to Sheikh Zayed Road from Hessa Street will also encounter slow moving traffic near the Saudi German Hospital junction.
S Sridhar who heading to SZR from Al Khail Road has called in about jams right after connecting onto the highway from Route 66. He said: “I usually take the Al Safa exit, but as soon as I saw the gridlock on Al Khail, I banked left to take the DIFC exit. But even that is at a complete standstill. I don’t know what’s going on.”
Reports coming in from Sharjah have also added to the morning woes, with the Buhairah cornice road traffic crawling, along with traffic jams near the National Paints junction.
