Traffic update: Dubai Police clear over-turned truck on Business Bay; Traffic snarl clearing

UPDATE: Dubai Police has confirmed the accident on Business Bay has cleared, making way for smooth flowing traffic once again.

The department tweeted the news, saying: “At 9.11am, the delivery vehicle was directed from the Business Bay crossing and movement is back to normal.”

There has been no report on anyone seriously injured during the accident that occurred around 7.30am. 

Monday morning blues continued on the roads, with Business Bay crossing being one of the worst hit traffic wise this morning with reports of a delivery truck overturning on one side of the bridge.

Dubai Police confirmed the accident, which occurred approximately 7.30am, saying: “There has been a delivery truck accident on the Business Bay crossing road to Deira, just before the bridge. Please take caution.”

Commuter Carol D’Souza, who was driving from Al Nahda told Emirates 24|7: “I passed by the accident around 8.20am and there were tailbacks on both sides of the bridge with rubbernecks probably slowing down to stop and stare at the accident.

“When I passed by, the police was already on the scene and controlling traffic.”

Meanwhile, there were reports of an accident just before the Trade Centre underpass, on the Bur Dubai side.

Witness Aarti Bhatia said: “The four-car accident occurred just opposite Dubai Immigration, with the police already on the scene when we passed by.

“However, the traffic congestion continued all the way to Port Rashid junction.”
