Suspect admits to crime (Supplied)
A Filipina travel agent allegedly forged visit visas and embezzled Dh64,000, Dubai Criminal Court heard.
The incident came to light when two customers from the Philippines called the company, where the suspect worked, to enquire about the visas they had received from the company.
The potential visitors had checked the visas they had received through the website of the Department of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai and suspected that the visas they received were forged.
The 25-year-old suspect, CF, admitted to forging visas and related invoices. She collected a total of Dh64,000 by forging visas and sending them to the overseas travel agent.
The company’s owner reported the crime to police.
The accused admitted to the crime and the court will give its verdict on May 28.
