Two Emirati brothers were killed and their friend was seriously injured when their car overturned and hit a tree after the driver lost control of the vehicle inside a roundabout in the eastern oasis town of Al Ain because of speed.

The 19-year-old driver, identified as SMSH, entered the Dahab roundabout at high speed and was heading for Nima roundabout when he lost control of the car, the semi-official daily 'Al Ittihad' said.

“The car swerved 78 metres towards the right side and hit the pavement….it then overturned and hit a tree,” it said, quoting Colonel Hamad Nasser, director of the external road patrols in Abu Dhabi’s traffic police.

He said the driver and his brother, MSH, who was sat next to him, were killed while their friend in the back seat was seriously injured.
