A major fire broke out at a tyre warehouse in the Ras Al Khor Industrial Area on Monday morning, creating a huge layer of thick dark smoke in the area.
The fire from a premise located opposite the Lagoon in Ras Al Khor started in the morning, attracted the attention of motorists driving towards Dubai on the Business Bay.
The smoke emanating from burning tyre was so thick and dark that it covered the entire area.
The fire was brought under control by the Dubai Civil Defence team before it spread to the other warehouses and factories located in the area. “I could see the smoke from Emirates Road itself and traffic was piling up as motorists slowed down to watch. Dubai Civil Defence brought the fire under control within a few hours,” said an eye witness.
