UAE at Arab Customs Tariff meet

The UAE is participating in the 34th session of the Arab Commission for the Unified Customs Tariff, which began in Cairo on Sunday.

The UAE delegation is headed by Tariq Bu Rahimah, head of the customs services department at the Federal Customs Authority.

The meeting is held under the chairmanship of Abdulaziz Al Mughira, head of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia delegation, and with the participation of representatives of Arab customs officials.

The five-day long event, which is held at the General Secretariat of the Arab League, discusses a number of important issues, notably the proposal tabled by the Arab Republic of Egypt on the negotiation mechanism regarding the Arab unified customs duties. The participants will also discuss the observations of Arab States on the Arab unified tariff.
