UAE Filipinos get cheaper phone calls home

Telecom provider Du has cut international calling rates from the UAE to Philippines.

According to a report in ‘Emarat Al Youm’, Du has reduced international calling rates for its Filipino customers to 36 fils per minute – to any number in the Philippines.

The move is part of the Kabayan offer by Du. Current Kabayan subscribers will automatically benefit from the special calling rates. “In line with its mission to add more value to your dirham, Du is giving customers with family and friends in the Philippines highly competitive calling rates from the UAE,” Du said in a statement.

Fahad Al Hassawi, Chief Commercial Officer, Du, said: “We have decided to reduce our calling rates to any network in the Philippines from 45fils to 36 fils per minute. Initiatives like these enable Du to further approach the smart city vision, one in which the happiness of its people is vital.”

For Dh1 call setup fee, Du customers can call to the Philippines for Dh0.36/minute. To activate this option dial *135*71# and choose option 1.
