UAE FNC elections: Voting till 6pm

The UAE Federal National Council elections will begin today at nine centres at 10am.
 
Voting will be allowed until 6pm, and will continue from today till September 30.
 
The National Election Council (NEC) announced that the electronic voting system will be in use in Abu Dhabi.
 
Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs and Chairman of the Election Administration, Tariq Hilal Lootah, said preparations at all electoral centres were complete.
 
The polling stations approved for early voting will include Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain Convention Centre in Al Khabisi in Al Ain, the Wedding Hall in Madinat Zayed in the Western Region, Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai and Sharjah Chess Club in Sharjah City.

They will also include the building of the Social Services Centre in Al Jarf in Ajman, the Higher Colleges of Technology in Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Khalifa wedding hall in Umm Al Quwain and the exhibition area in Fujairah.
 
The electronic voting system works through the use of Emirates identity card issued by the Emirates Identity Authority.

Citizens also called to verify their names on poll lists through the website www.uaenec.ae or by contacting 600500005.

An NEC smart application can also be downloaded from Apple or Google.
