UAE has most vacancies in GCC… your possible options

The number of job vacancies posted online is the highest in the UAE as compared to other GCC member countries.

According to the latest Monster Middle East Employment Index, UAE was seen at the top in the job growth ladder charting eight percent growth on the year between September 2013 and 2014.

The country has also exhibited double-digit growth in online recruitment during the months of July, August and September, the steepest among all monitored cities.

After UAE, your next bet could be Kuwait if you are on the lookout for a job. The country registered a 5 per cent growth year-over-year. Oman came third on the list with a registered growth of 4 per cent followed by Saudi Arabia at 3 per cent.

In Qatar, the recruitment level continued to match with that of the previous year and no percentage change was registered. Bahrain was the only country in the bloc to see a dip. The country exhibited a 3 per cent drop in hiring activity year-on-year.

Jobs portal Gulftalent.com also shows the maximum number of jobs advertised are for the UAE. The country has about 2607 listed vacancies as compared to 781 for Qatar, 658 for Saudi Arabia, 197 for Kuwait and 143 for Oman.

Within the UAE, customer service professionals are high in demand and many vacancies are being advertised to hire them. The Monster figures show a 63 per cent growth year-on-year for these professionals as far as the number of jobs advertised on the online medium are concerned.

This is followed by professionals in purchase/logistics/supply chain with a 58 per cent growth and in software, hardware and telecom with a 35 per cent over the same period of time.

Gulf Talent figures show that the maximum numbers of vacancies advertised are for professionals in civil engineering followed by sales and marketing.

The figures of the job portal also show that experienced professional are the most in demand; followed by those in supervisory /managerial roles and junior professional. However, there are limited opportunities for student and fresh graduates.
