The Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office has announced the launch of the website of the UAE heroes’ memorial, which is being built on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The website www.thememorial.ae includes a special section featuring the names and information about all the UAE national heroes since the establishment of the Union. It also contains all the information related to the memorial, including its objectives, location, design and construction phases, and the visiting hours that will come into effect upon completion of the project.

The website includes poems by Emirati and Arab poets expressing pride for the sacrifices of the UAE heroes, extracted from the poetry book announced by the Poetry Academy of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage in association with the Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office.

Visitors to the website can get the latest news and information on the activities related to Commemoration Day, which is being observed on November 30 to honour the UAE heroes for their sacrifice for the nation. The public can make use of the website to send messages expressing their pride and appreciation for the heroes, and their love for their homeland and the leadership.

The Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office has stated that the website will play an active role in promoting engagement between all segments of the society on the Commemoration Day activities in the country.

Book of poems in honour of UAE martyrs

The Poetry Academy at the Abu Dhabi's Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee, in association with the Martyrs' Family Affairs Office (MFAO) at the Court of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, has launched a book of poems that commemorates the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes. The book aims to highlight the pride and appreciation of the UAE leadership and the people for the sacrifices of the heroes in the service of the nation.

Sultan Al Amimi, Director of the Academy of Poetry, explained that the book includes multiple poems published in the media in honour of the UAE martyrs in addition to poems selected from the competition announced by the Academy in cooperation with the Martyrs' Family Affairs Office last October.

He stated that the book contains 43 poems contributed by UAE citizens and residents expressing gratitude to the UAE heroes and their families for their patriotism and sacrifice, and describes the nation’s support for the UAE armed forces.

The book also includes a range of expressive paintings by a group of artists and talented Emiratis who depict the poetic texts to express their appreciation of the UAE martyred heroes.
