Emirates Identity Authority (Eida) has totally discontinued its old e-form starting with (8001).

The Authority urged customers to ensure the typing centers they visit applies for ID card using the new form that starts with (8002).

Emirates ID noted that a list of centers authorised to use its new form is available on its website, stressing that the old form starting with (8001) will be rejected starting November 3, 2013.

The Authority highlighted that the new e-form is characterized by innovative and dynamic specifications making it a model in terms of design, content, simplicity and clarity.

The Authority warned typing centers that using the old form will result in voiding applications and that they can’t use the new form without prior official approval from Emirates ID.

Emirates ID underlined that applicants can fill up the new form through its website in 10 simple steps that will take them less than 10 minutes.

By filling the application online, applicants can save the Dh30 fee they pay at the typing centers. The new form allows new applicants to register for the ID card as well as renewal of an expired card and replacement of lost or damaged cards.

At the end of last September, Emirates ID announced the launch of its new e-form consisting of 21 digits starting with (8002) through more than 1200 typing centers across the UAE and through its website www.emiraetsid.gov.ae.

Emirates ID added that the new form has been gradually circulated across the country according to a well thought out plan where the old one was discontinued in parallel. The circulation was also done after taking a set of procedures in connection with the evaluation of the typing centers to be engaged, percentage of Emiratization in these centers as well as training of their employees on efficient ways to deal with the e-form and with the customers. This should secure the best levels of accuracy and quality in data entry and the commitment of the approved centers to the targeted level of service. A mechanism for fee collection will be also set.

It called upon all typing centers and companies wishing to obtain permission to use the new e-form to contact the Authority on (600530003) or via email (typingcenterunit@emiratesid.ae).
