Under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, 146 of Grade 9 and Grade 10 students, from the Army Public School – Peshawar, received a protocol welcome at Terminal 1, Dubai International Airport on Thursday afternoon at 2.30pm.

A team from the office of Sheikh Nahyan received the students who have gone through unimaginable trauma in one of the worst terrorist attacks at any school in Peshawar where nearly 150 people lost their lives.

The auditorium of the school was turned into an execution hall during the brutal tragedy making it one of the most heart breaking scenes.

The students are coming as part of the Pakistan Super League (T20 Cricket Tournament) being held in Dubai and Sharjah.

Peshawar Zalmi, the home team of the city where the tragedy occurred is hosting them here in Dubai.

The office of Sheikh Nahyan is organising a number of events to entertain the children whilst on their visit including an exciting trip to Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi (Saturday) for the 146 students, along with a Beach cricket event to be held under the sponsorship with Moto, the made in UAE energy drink (Sunday), at Skydive Dubai.

The office of Sheikh Nahyan bin Hamdan bin Mohammad Al Nahyan said it hopes this initiative brings smiles on the faces of the trauma struck students who have gone through a lot. It hopes this visit to the UAE helps in the healing process of the emotional scars of some of the students who are struggling to come to terms with the routine regular life.
