Eida offers customer service on Skype

UAE residents with any questions or suggestions relating to the Emirates ID can now pose these questions immediately and face-to-face in a Skype conversation with a customer representatives of the Emirates Identity Authority (Eida).

Eida has just launched this new communication channel, which provides round-the-clock customer service, seven days per week with a team of customer service representatives.

Any customer can add the Skype user name EmiratesID_skype, and start a conversation (audio only) at any point in time in English or in Arabic, while other languages will be added in the future.

Amer al Mehri, Director of Government Communication at Eida, said that the authority has introduced the new service to be provided via a Skype team coached to interact with customers and receive their complaints and comments and answer their questions according to the highest standards and the most accurate information.

With the Skype channel now open, the total number of communication channels at EIDA stands at 14, and this will soon be 15 when the authority launches a ‘chat option’ on its website as early as next week, revealed Diyaa Abdulal, Head of Government Communications.

Al Mehri said the agency is working continuously to develop and update the channels of communication offered to its customers as part of its quest to improve customer services and contribute to their satisfaction while drawing a smile on their faces.

Last week, Eida won an award for best Social Media Site for Government Communication at the Sharjah Government Communication Awards, paying tribute to its growing Twitter page.

“Our social media channels are very attractive to people, as well as the section on our website where customers can contact the General Director, to discuss their complaints or comments with the ‘big boss’,” said Diyaa.

“Customers can contact us through any channel and expect a reply within 24, or maximum 48 hours,” he added.
