UAE's Etihad, Emirates, Air Arabia hiring cabin crew: Click for salary details

Leading UAE airlines are looking to hire cabin crew members, with Etihad Airways alone holding 11 recruitment days next month as the airline looks to expand its network in 2015.

The national airline of the United Arab Emirates is looking to hire candidates during these recruitment days, which will take place in six cities around the world.

According to the company, the cabin crew recruitment team will be assessing candidates in Amman, Bucharest, Casablanca and Munich. The airline will also host invitation-only assessments for cabin crew in Abu Dhabi and Narita, Japan. The airline’s open days in Abu Dhabi will be held on March 9 and 23, 2015.

Budget carrier Air Arabia also has an upcoming recruitment event scheduled to take place in Jordan. Air Arabia Jordan is looking to hire candidates during this event.

Dubai-based Emirates too has several recruitment days lined up in the month of March. Cabin crew assessment days will take place in many cities like Perth, Sydney, Minsk, Antwerp, Brno, Prague, Berlin and Munich among others.

The criteria for the roles are in line with the industry requirements. This includes a higher secondary education, good command over the English language, minimum age of 21 years with the other basic physical requirements.

To give you a rough idea of the pay packages, Air Arabia, cabin crew are paid a monthly salary which includes basic, housing allowance and transportation allowance. Flying allowance will be paid as per the slabs. Additional benefits include medical insurance, life & accident insurance cover, visa expenses and annual leave.

Annual passage on economy class to the nearest international airport in the country of origin is given. Air Arabia travel benefits include unlimited rebated standby tickets on Air Arabia and one set of free firm tickets for self, spouse and two children per annum on Air Arabia for married staff. Single staff can avail one set of free firm tickets for parents and two brother/sister(s) per annum on Air Arabia.

Bonus is based on individual’s annual performance and company’s profits whereas end of service benefits are as per the UAE Labour law.

Successful candidates at Emirates ideally get shared cabin crew accommodation with own bedroom. Profit sharing schemes, exchange rate protection scheme, professional specialist allowances also make up a part of the package. However, these benefits depend upon the role and/or applicant’s unique personal circumstance.

Transportation to and from the airport and other standard non-cash elements like annual leave, leave tickets, end of service gratuity, medical and insurance form a part of the package. On leaving the company, an employee is entitled to an end of service gratuity or provident scheme payment, whichever is higher.

Education support allowance is given to staff in more senior positions and eligible UAE National and GCC citizens are enrolled into their respective government pension scheme, with employee and company contributions payable.

Etihad Airlines promises to offer a “fantastic tax-free salary which is competitive within the industry and reviewed on a regular basis.”

Besides this, free accommodation is provided in a modern shared fully-furnished apartment, with your own private facilities. “Everything is provided for you to ensure that you have a safe, secure and comfortable home in Abu Dhabi,” mentions the airline.

Transportation from accommodation to the airport for flight duties is given and then to bring you back home again after your flight.

The cabin crew members have access to Etihad swimming pools, health clubs and fitness centres at no cost, and reduced rate massage, hairdressing and beauty treatments to keep you looking your best.
