UAE wadis flooded: Emirati escapes watery grave

Published

The heavy rains over the weekend have left many wadis across the UAE flooded. Police officials, across all Emirates, have warned motorists against venturing into the affected areas.

Emarat Al Youm reports that an Emirati in Fujairah escaped a watery grave after his vehicle was stuck in Wadi Marbadh in Fujairah.

An eyewitness said that the water was gushing into the valley with such force that it had dragged the vehicle away with the current.

The Fujairah Police rescued the man, but asked motorists – especially those who are drawn to the challenge of crossing a flooded wadi – not to take any risk.

The National Center of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has forecast hazy and partly cloudy weather for today, with chance of some towering clouds in the afternoon.

Moderate to fresh winds will cause some dust to blow and and reduce the horizontal visibility over some internal areas.
