UAE warns against travel to Yemen

The UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised citizens not to travel to Yemen due to the unstable security situation in the country.

A statement issued yesterday by the ministry said the warning comes as part of the UAE’s keenness on the safety of UAE citizens abroad. It stressed the importance of citizens strictly following all instructions for their own safety.

The ministry also called on the UAE citizens in Yemen to be cautious and to call the number 009671514514 or to contact the ministry’s operations department on the number 0097124449600.

UAE citizens travelling abroad were also advised to enrol in the Tawjdi (my whereabouts) service programme and to read the travel advice page at the ministry’s website www.mofa.gov.ae.
