Dubai woke up to a cloudy skies and light drizzling rain on Saturday morning. The weather was cooler than normal, the roads wet and the atmosphere hazy.

Most residents hoping to enjoy a weekend at the beach were left dissapointed. "While the beach is open for visitors to come and relax, we are not allowing anybody in the water," a Dubai Municipality official at the open beach said.

The sea was forecast to be very rough in the Arabian Gulf and rough in the Sea of Oman.

The National Centre for Meteorology and Seisomology’s forecast for the day said  hazy and cloudy conditions will prevail over most areas in the UAE, with a chance of scattered rain, especially over the northern and the eastern areas.

Day temperatures are likely to decrease.

NCMS predicted moderate to fresh winds, especially over the sea. Blowing dust/sand in some areas, especially the internal regions, may reduce the horizontal visibility at times. The sea will be moderate to rough.

NCMS has warned the drivers and road users of the poor visibility due.

For tomorrow also, NCMS has forecast hazy and cloudy weather, with light and scattered rain likely in the morning, especially in the northern and eastern parts of the UAE.

A significant fall in day temperature is seen. Strong northwesterly winds, especially over the sea, is seen. Reduced visibility due to blowing sand predicted in some internal regions.
