Rough weather... mercury dips further in UAE

The UAE has been witnessing partly cloudy skies for the last two days.

The country’s weather forecasting centre has warned of high winds that may reduce horizontal visibility across parts on Monday .

Rough weather in UAE next 3 days: Motorists, beach-goers warned

The National Center of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has advised sea-goers not to venture into the sea for at least the next three days beginning today (Saturday) evening due to rough weather.

The Centre has also cautioned that extra care must be taken on roads due to poor visibility caused by fresh winds.

NCMS has predicted Saturday to be partly cloudy. Amount of clouds will increase over the islands and the western region by night, winds will be moderate in general, and may become fresh by night over the sea.

Arabian Sea will be moderate and may become rough by late night over the western part, while it will be slight to moderate in Oman Sea. Relative humidity will increase by night and tomorrow morning over some inland areas with probability of fog or mist over scattered parts, it stated.

Sunday will also be partly cloudy to cloudy, specifically over the coastal and northern parts, with probability of light rain.

In addition to substantial drop on temperatures, surface wind will accelerate gradually to become fresh in general and strong over sea, causing rough to very rough sea in Arabian Gulf, while it will be moderate to rough in Oman Sea tomorrow.

Horizontal visibility will be reduced due to dust in suspension and raising sand to the western region in specific.

Monday, too, will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times and dusty. Winds will continue to be fresh to strong at times over the sea in specific, also causing blowing dust over inland and open areas, reducing horizontal visibility at times.

Sea will be rough to very rough in Arabian Gulf, and rough in Oman Sea.
