As the weather rolls into mid-October, the UAE will undergo a significant drop in temperatures by early next week, even as the shroud of fog persists through the weekend.

High humidity levels will also add to the overall discomfort, while cloud cover in the eastern region may bring some respite to areas such as Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah, areas which saw significant showers on Wednesday.

The UAE'S National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) have forecast the weather on Friday and Saturday will continue to remains uniform, with a probability of fog or mist along the coastal areas of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, along with low visibility over the central inland areas of Liwa and Madinat Zayed.

There will be a formation of clouds over the eastern region and mountains, which may give rise to convective clouds; earlier this week, such a weather system gave rise to fresh winds and rainfall in the eastern part of the UAE.

Those venturing out to sea will find the waters slight to moderate on Friday; however, by evening the waters will get rough, continuing into Saturday and even Sunday.

However, a noted change in weather will sweep over the country on Sunday, with‎ a probability of fog or mist over inland areas, with a drop in temperatures along the coast and over the west.

The NCMS is warning fresh winds will create dusty climes and raise sand by day, which may hinder horizontal visibility for motorists.

The sea is likely to be rough in the Arabian Gulf.
