The Dubai Criminal Court will on October 4 issue the verdict in the case where an Indian cook stands accused of attempting to rape a housewife.

The 29-year-old man ABI was charged with sexual abuse, issuing threats and sending annoying text message over the telecom network.

The case dates back to January 2, when TBO, a 20-year-old married woman who was alone at home heard someone knocking her door. Although she asked the person to leave since her husband was not at home, he continued knocking.

When she opened to find out the reason, he entered the flat and attempted to rape her despite her resistance.

In a smart move, the young woman feigned illness and fainted to trick the perpetrator who got scared and left the place.

On being told about the incident, her husband NA, 31, a mail deliverer, met ABI and sought to settle the issue amicably.

But the cook continued to pester the victim by sending her text messages threatening jail term of two years if she complained to the police who arrested the man.

In another case, the court adjourned the case in which a Filipino man strangling his girlfriend and dumping her body in Al Twar.
IJD, 26, is accused of killing Emma Anjos on March 26 with a rope while at the back seat of his car.

The court will hear the witnesses on October 28.
