Verdict in Miras Holding case next week
The verdict in the case involving two expatriates embezzling Dh3.3 million from the Lands and Property Department will be issued next week by a Dubai Criminal Court.
A Lebanese national RNH and a Jordanian IHM stands accused for embezzling the money from Miras Holding. They were supposed to hand over the amount as compensation to owners of land where the company was planning to set up projects.
The court will also issue verdict in the Wall Street Exchange theft. Two Indian nationals face charges of stealing Dh1.43 million from the exchange.
The court posted for verdict next week, a case in which a Kenyan national was accused of stealing Dh2 million with her now-fugitive compatriot.
The 24-year-old woman JWK who worked as a salesperson was charged with forging her employer's signatures to encash two cheques. The Iranian employer who was away in his homecountry had received a message from the bank about the withdrawal of Dh2 million by the woman.
He immediately contacted the Kenyan ambassador in Tehran who managed to alert police in Kenya who arrested her on landing there.
